Huge Sweaty update

I at the house waiting for the a/c tech dude to come, so I figured now's as good a time as any to update our blog.

Our lives have been an absolute whirlwind for the past two months. With graduation, new job and moving, we have been up to our ears with stuff to do. That's my excuse for lack of updates anyway.

Liam is turning into a headstrong little man. He is stringing words into sentences now, and getting better and better at communicating his needs. This has been a huge help, but it also means our little dude is growing up.

He's really into the Cars movies and has a pretty serious collection of the toy characters. He also loves Hotwheels which is good because they are like a dollar a piece. Lately he has really been into counting his things out loud, and reading lots and lots of books.

His other big passion is anything outdoors. He really enjoys spending time with Daddy in the yard, "helping" wherever he can.

Also, July marked the big 2. We held a little birthday bash at our house, and a bunch of his cousins and a nudist buddy of his came for some cake, toys and baby pool fun!

Here's are some recent photos:

Here's the first hat to go into the rhino exhibit. Long story, but doubt the keepers will be thrilled to see us at the gate!

BIG Machines!

Wanted to share some photos of some fun with big machines. Aimee and a friend of hers took the boys to visit the Bryan Fire Department. Liam got a big kick out of the firetrucks, the fire boat, and the other equipment, but did not care for the guys decked out in full bunker gear. He wasn't impressed.

Here's Capt. Liam.
Hangin' with the fellas
telling some funny stories about eating bugs or something...

The truck was next
He politely declined a job offer to drive the rig, but said he would reconsider in a few years.
He then proceeded to perform a visual inspection of the facilities.

He was apparently really happy about the air pressure in the tires being spot on.

Here's a good one of Momma and Liam
Saturday, Liam and I found ourselves at Veteran's Park in CS. There was a benefit marathon organized by the A&M Corps, complete with some really expensive government property. He absolutely lit up at the sight of the Apache.

The tank crew were extremely friendly. One soldier politely asked me if Liam could go up on the tank with him. He gently picked him up and showed him the cool parts of the M-1 Abrams with great patience and care. I was extremely impressed, thankful, and honored by what these men do for us.

Hope all's well!

Holy Huge Post!

Well it's been a busy few weeks in our neck of the woods, and for once we happened to capture most of it. Here are a boat load of pics from some of our recent adventures.

Aimee and the Man-Cub went north for a few nights to visit with his Great-Grandmother, Gi Gi. She was not feeling too well, so Liam wanted to go help her get better.

Aunt Karla getting in on the Liam action..
Big hug from Gi Gi.
Big hug from cousin Maddie.
Group shot. Liam is tough to get motionless..
Here's a few shots from another of our track outings. The SCCA was in town, with is a wide range of serious machinery. We backed the SUV up to a guard rail with a great view, and ate burgers and hot dogs while watching some racing. Good times!
Liam in his hot rod with a Formula Mazda
With a GT1 Mustang.
The next weekend we attended a birthday party for the Dodd boy at a local gymnastics facility. This was BIG fun. Everything was well padded, so we could rest easy that there would be little chance that Liam would do any harm to himself or his surroundings. He had a blast!!!!

The next weekend, we packed up and headed east to see Me Me and Pappy at their bitty house in Texas City. It was nice to finally see their vacation home. They took us around to some of their favorite restaurants, and showed us some of the fun to be had in their area.

Saturday, we packed up and went down the road to a drive-through zoo. They had all kind of giant, giant-horned, hairy, smelly beasts. Liam was not afraid of any of them. In fact, in the middle of the ride he asked me for a fork and some ketchup!

Momma and Liam on the ride
Great shot of one of the CRAZY ostrichi feeding from Aimee's bucket of mystery animal food stuff. He looks exactly this wicked in person.
This is a shot of a Watusi. HUGE horns. HUGE! Again, no fear shown by Liam. We were amazed.
Liam with Meme and Pappy. Having a good ol time!
Thought I would try to steal a camel smooch. Not the best idea I discovered.
Here's a camel with his head in the cart. Notice Liam trying to help the big fella get some of the food stuff.
The petting zoo was fun. The goats were friendly...
but the pigs were not.
To close the day, we ventured out to a fresh veggie farm called Frobergs'. It is apparently strawberry picking season, so we thought we would let the boy grab some of his favorite eats right off the vine.
This is his "please" gesture. Not sure what he was asking for though.
Dirty hat = hard work on the farm.
Big boy carrying in the harvest.
Here's the "fruits" of our labor...

Hope everyone is well!
