Ring Day

Yesterday I finally got my Aggie ring. It's been a long and memorable road, and it's coming to a bitter sweet end.

It was an honor to have my parents there with us when a couple of sharp dressed former students presented us with my ring, but the real honor was when Dad presented it to me. Our family has been a huge part of this journey and we can't thank all of you enough for your love, support and blessings.

Waiting our turn

This was a moment we will never forget.

Houston Zoo

Saturday we met Meme, Pappy and Kara at the Houston zoo. The weather was amazing, and the crowds were thick. It's so nice having Meme and Pappy so close by.

We started our tour through the traveling robotic dinosaur exhibit. It wasn't such a big hit, and Liam was slightly frightened by them.

Can't imagine why....
The petting zoo was lots of fun. Plenty of l scruffy little goats to pet.
and a little room to run around
The prairie dog exhibit was really interesting for some reason.
Guess it was the rare breed they had...

At the zebra house
Momma and Liam taking a break
The elephants were a big hit. They really caught his attention.
We liked this guys sweet 'stache.
These fellas are always a hit

We had a great day with the grandparents and Kara. We came home with a few new animal impersonations and some really good memories. He was completely worn out by the time we got back home.

Thanks for the great visit, Meme and Pappy!

Halloween 2010

Yoda's ready to hit the streets and get some treats! We joined a few other couples in a nice, family friendly neighborhood to turn the boy loose on the town. He really got into saying "treat" and then "bye" with a wave. Every now and again they would get a "thank you"

Pumpkin Patch 2010

We made our 2nd annual trip to the College Station pumpkin patch. Liam sure enjoyed all the pumpkins and all the room to stretch his legs.

"dis, dis, dis...."

This was our attempt of a solo shot of him. Little more difficult to get a still these days. Not sure he knows what still means. Well, I'm certain he doesn't know.

For comparisons sake, here's last years pic. Hasn't changed a bit!
Here's this year's family shot.

Park Pics...

Here are a few pics from a trip to our favorite park on campus. There is a small flock of ducks and a pond full of turtles. Liam discovered how much fun a moldy loaf of bread can truly be.

Feeding the turtles from the bridge

Enjoying the cool grass and warm sun
There are couple interesting places to cross over the pond. Requires BIG steps and a helping hand

Mom had a quick finger on the camera to catch a brave duck in action

Free at Last!!!

After a rough weekend at the hospital, Liam has finally been turned loose and he's loving it. These pictures were taken literally within 5 minutes after we walked in the door from the hospital. He was terrorizing a 7-ft Bugg's Bunny balloon that Pappy bought for him at the gift shop. Hard to tell what's going on, but the blonde-headed blur is our boy:

He's really been into yogurt these days, and really loves to eat it all by himself. Just gets a little messy at times...

These are from today. Next to eating, his favorite thing to do is just go outside and have a good time. We are lucky enough to have a relatively safe, and pretty large back yard where he can stretch his legs and explore. But sometimes he just likes to sit on the step and enjoy the cool fall air:

Another favorite snack is raisins. He really likes the kind that require a little work to get that one last little morsel from the bottom of the little box. Here he is in his Cars chair snacking
While at the hospital he was given a cup of jello with dinner one night. He loved it so much we got him some for home. He really loved to dig in and enjoy the jello.

Waste not, want not...

We are all still trying to recover fully from our little "vacation". None of us got much sleep the entire time we were there. Between the worrying and the nurses with annoying prods and probes, we basically had a series of naps. The hospital was extremely nice, and the staff took great care of our little fella. We can thank everyone enough for all the thoughts and prayers while Liam was struggling with a really nasty bug, and the visit from Meme and Pappy was especially nice. They dropped in "on their way" to Houston from Bishop just to see their sick grandbaby. It sure made his day.
